On March 15, 2024, TMZ reported that Jon filed a lawsuit against Vic Caroleo, a Florida pastor who has allegedly been impersonating Jon, freeloading off Jon’s name and reputation, and sexually harassing and assaulting women while pretending to be Jon. This has been happening for the past three years in and around Naples, Florida.

I can understand how a person might want to imitate Jon because of how amazing he is, but apparently no one told Vic Caroleo that Jon is an upstanding and ethical man and would never prey on women or engage in fraudulent business practices. In a post that mirrors my own POV about the situation, Aaron Ryan at WhiskeyRiff.com indicates Jon is suing Caroleo for invasion of privacy and to put a stop to Caroleo’s despicable behavior. Jon is not a very litigious man from what I can tell, but he will pull out all the stops when he has someone to fight for. If for no other reason, I can imagine Jon stopping this guy because he’s harming women. So, once again, thank you, Jon, for being an illustrious human being who we can aspire to be like—but not impersonate.
